MARCH TO FINANCIAL FREEDOM

“There is no substitute for victory – Gen. Douglas MacArthur

April 9 was “Araw ng Kagitingan” or “Day of Valor” as we celebrate and honor our veterans and remember the fallen of World War II and other battles and conflicts in our history who gave the ultimate sacrifice for this country and for the people.  Looking back, my late grandmother would tell us stories of how our late grandfather’s escape with a few of his comrades during the infamous Bataan Death March.

They were able to escape and hide through the help of the townsfolk they knew during the transfer of the bulk of prisoners of war in the historic San Fernando Train Station in the City of San Fernando, Pampanga to be shipped to Camp O’ Donnell in Capas, Tarlac through railway by their Japanese captors. He was a young army officer of the Philippine Commonwealth Army then. Although he died four decades ago, I still recount what my grandmother and some of the old folks we know who lived during the Japanese occupation years as a very harsh period in our Philippine history.

The past year has shared a lot of events from positive economic reports, increase business activities, there have been negative news from disasters and catastrophes that happened either natural or manmade during the latter part of 2012 in our country including the rumored Doomsday Prophecies of December 22, 2012 according to Ancient Mayan Calendar prediction which made world headlines a few days before the holiday season.

The spending during the past season had piled up and it did does not justify the expenses we incurred during the festive season for our friends, loved ones and colleagues so we better shape up or ship out in our finances.
Many superstitious people believe that the number 13 is an unlucky number but there is no reasonable explanation why we should have phobia on this because it is just a number? Still the destiny still rest in our hands.

The Global Debt Crisis is spreading again.

America in Crisis. I just a glimpse of one of my friends in Facebook explaining this short video on how the United States is doing to avert the problem but in my opinion it is coming from bad to worse.

This video is a very educational for people who don't understand much of economics. This is very short, concise but true on what's happening on the largest economy with AAA credit rating downgraded to AA+ a few days ago.

So the saying is true "When America sneezes, the world catches the flu".

What about the Philippines? I do not know yet for the time being on the status of our country if we will be affected with the onset of this new illness springing up. But anyways, I will keep you posted for further post on this as a continuation.
